he CSCS Green Labourer Card is designed for entry-level and unskilled construction workers. It is valid for 2 years initially and can be renewed for 5 years with proof of ongoing labouring employment. To qualify, you must pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test and complete a Health & Safety Awareness Course or Level 1 Award in Health & Safety within a Construction Environment (or equivalent).
Book Green CSCS Card
The CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card is valid for 5 years and is designed for workers who have achieved a recognised construction qualification. To qualify, you must hold an NVQ/SVQ Level 2 in a construction-related trade (or SVQ at SCQF Level 5) or have completed a recognised apprenticeship, such as an employer-sponsored apprenticeship, City & Guilds Craft Certificate (CGLI), or a CSCS-approved apprenticeship.
Book Blue CSCS Card
The CSCS Provisional Card is for individuals completing a probationary period in a construction role. It is valid for 6 months and is non-renewable. Applicants must have passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test within the last 2 years. This card is available only to those who have never held a CSCS card before and can be issued once only.
Book Red Provisional CSCS Card
The CSCS Trainee Card is for individuals enrolled on a recognised construction qualification, such as an NVQ/SVQ, HNC, HND, or Degree that leads to a skilled CSCS card. Five-Year Trainee Card: Issued to those actively working towards an approved competence-based qualification, which must be completed before the card expires. The CSCS Experienced Worker Card is for individuals with on-site construction experience (normally at least 1 year within the last 3 years) who are registered to complete a construction-related NVQ/SVQ Level 2, SVQ at SCQF Level 5, or higher. The card is valid for 1 year and is non-renewable.
Book Red Experienced CSCS Card
The CSCS Experienced TSM Card is designed for Supervisors, Managers, and Technical workers with relevant on-site experience (normally at least 1 year within the last 3 years). Applicants must be registered to complete an approved construction-related TSM NVQ/SVQ Level 3, SVQ at SCQF Level 6, or higher. This temporary card is valid for 3 years and is non-renewable.
Book Red Experienced Card
The CSCS Gold Skilled Worker Card is valid for 5 years and is intended for advanced skilled workers in the construction industry. To qualify, you must hold a construction-related NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or SVQ at SCQF Level 6), or have completed an approved apprenticeship. This includes recognised apprenticeships such as those approved by industry bodies, or an employer-sponsored apprenticeship that led to achieving a City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate.

The CSCS Supervisor Card is designed for individuals working in supervisory or technical roles within the construction industry. It is valid for 5 years. To qualify, you must hold a construction-related Supervisory or Technical NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or 4, or an Occupational Work Supervision NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (with proof of the endorsed occupation).
Book Gold Supervisor Card
The CSCS Manager Card is for individuals in construction management or technical roles. It is valid for 5 years. To qualify, you must hold a relevant Construction Management or Technical NVQ/SVQ Level 4, 5, 6, or 7, or an SVQ at SCQF Level 10 or 11. All applicants must also pass the CITB Managers & Professionals Health, Safety & Environment Test.
Book Black Manage CSCS Card
The CSCS Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) Card is issued to members of CSCS-approved professional bodies and is valid for 5 years. Applicants must provide proof of current membership at an accepted level (such as a valid membership certificate, card, official letter/email, payment receipt, or dated online confirmation for the current year). Membership must be renewed annually, and failure to maintain membership may result in the card being cancelled. This card cannot be renewed. All applicants must pass the CITB Managers & Professionals Health, Safety & Environment Test.
Book White Professionally Card
The CSCS Academically Qualified Person (AQP) Card is available to individuals who have completed an approved construction-related Degree, HND, HNC, CIOB Certificate, or certain NEBOSH diplomas or certificates. It is valid for 5 years. All applicants must pass the CITB Managers & Professionals Health, Safety & Environment Test.
