About the CSCS Green Labourer Card

The CSCS Green Labourer Card is designed for individuals carrying out general labouring duties on construction sites. It demonstrates that the cardholder has achieved the required level of health and safety knowledge to work safely in the construction industry. This card is intended only for labourers and unskilled workers. It must not be used by workers in skilled occupations, as those roles require the appropriate CSCS skilled worker card. Skilled workers using a Labourer Card may be refused access to site.

You must pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Operatives before applying for your CSCS Green Card.

Complete an approved Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment, which is the recognised qualification required for the Green Labourer Card.

Card Validity

First Application: Valid for 2 years.
Renewal: Valid for 5 years, provided you continue working in a labouring role and meet the renewal requirements. To renew your card, you must provide evidence that you are still employed as a labourer and complete the required renewal declaration.
